Rich text blocks are the foundation of most course pages. They're added by default when you create a new page, and they're where you write the explanations, instructions, and written material that make up your course content.
Adding a rich text block
When you add a new page, a paragraph block is included by default. To add more text blocks, select the + button on the page and choose Paragraph.
Formatting options
Block type
By default, a rich text block is set to Paragraph. Select the dropdown to change the block type:
| Block type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Paragraph | Standard body text |
| Heading 1 | Major section headings |
| Heading 2 | Sub-section headings |
| Heading 3 | Smaller headings within sections |
| Bulleted list | Unordered lists |
| Numbered list | Ordered, sequential lists |
Text styling
You can apply the following formatting to text within any rich text block:
| Style | What it does |
|---|---|
| Bold | Makes text bold |
| Italic | Makes text italic |
| Underline | Underlines text |
Tip: Use headings to create clear structure within your pages, and keep paragraphs focused on a single point. This makes your course easier to scan and follow.
