Brand kits let you apply your organisation's colours, fonts, and typography to your courses, ensuring a consistent look and feel across everything you create.
Creating a brand kit
Getting started
- From the Colossyan home page, select Assets in the left-hand navigation
-
You'll see two sections: Video Editor and Course Editor
- Under Course Editor, select Brand Kits
-
Select Create New, then From Scratch
-
Give your brand kit a name and select Create
Setting up your colour palette
You can now see the brand kit creator settings on the left, and the preview of what the changes will do in the centre of the screen.
On the left-hand side, you'll see the Palette section. This is where you define all the key colours for your brand.
To add a colour:
- Select the + button
- Give the colour a name
-
Use the colour selector to pick your colour, or enter a hex code directly
Add as many colours as you need to represent your brand.
Configuring your theme
Below the palette, you'll find the Theme section. Theme colours control how your brand is applied across course elements:
| Theme colour | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Primary | The colour of buttons and button backgrounds |
| Block text | The colour of text inside content blocks |
| Block surface | The background colour of content blocks |
| Background | The background colour behind the blocks (the full page background) |
Adding fonts
You can upload custom fonts to your brand kit, ensuring your courses match your organisation's typography standards.
Configuring typography
The typography settings let you control the styling of your text elements. You can configure:
- Heading 1
- Heading 2
- Heading 3
- Paragraph text
For each of these, you can change:
- Colour
- Font family (from your uploaded fonts)
- Font weight (regular, bold, etc.)
Applying a brand kit to a course
Once you've created a brand kit, you can apply it to any course from within the editor.
- Open your course and navigate to a page inside a lesson
- In the top right of the editor, select the brand kit icon
- Choose the brand kit you want to apply
Your course will update to reflect the selected brand kit's colours, fonts, and typography.
Tip: You can also create a new brand kit or edit existing brand kits directly from this menu, so you don't need to navigate back to the Assets section.
