Colossyan runs fully in your web browser, so no special installation is required.
Since Colossyan is a web-based app, there are no strict hardware specifications for its use; however, there are best practices that can ensure a smooth user experience.
Please see our recommendations and guidelines below.
Hardware
Here are our practical minimum hardware suggestions (Windows and Mac) for basic use (short scripts, simple videos, occasional rendering) on an up-to-date version of Google Chrome:
- CPU: Modern 64‑bit dual‑core processor (for example, recent Intel Core i3 / AMD Ryzen 3 or Apple M‑series equivalent).
- RAM: At least 8 GB system memory so Chrome and Colossyan can run smoothly.
- GPU: Integrated graphics cards are usually sufficient since resource-heavy video generation happens in Colossyan’s cloud; local GPU power mainly affects user interface smoothness and preview playback.
Minimum Hardware Requirements
If your device meets at least the following specs, you should be able to use Colossyan for basic editing and video work:
- Processor: Intel Core i3 (or equivalent)
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: Integrated GPU (modern integrated graphics should suffice)
These minimum specs should support basic editing tasks. However, depending on your browser, other running applications, or system load, performance may vary.
Recommended Hardware (For Best Experience)
For smoother editing and responsive performance, especially on more complex projects, we recommend higher-spec systems:
- Processor: Intel Core i5 or newer, or equivalent modern CPU - for example, Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 5/7, Apple Silicon (M1 or newer)
- Memory: 16 GB RAM or more
- Graphics: Modern integrated GPU or a dedicated GPU
Using a system that meets or exceeds these recommended specifications will noticeably improve preview playback and overall responsiveness.
Operating System Support
Colossyan should work on most up-to-date desktop operating systems - because all core features work via the web app -, when paired with a supported browser:
- Windows: Windows 10 or newer
- macOS: Recent macOS versions supported by Chrome, Safari, or Firefox
- Linux: Modern distributions using a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox)
Older or unsupported operating systems may still function, but performance could be limited.
Internet Connection
Since Colossyan handles video processing and uploads in the cloud, a reliable internet connection is important. For best results:
- Minimum: ~10 Mbps download and upload
- Recommended: 20 Mbps or higher
- Use a stable wired or strong Wi-Fi connection
Supported Browsers
For the best experience with Colossyan, we recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome. Other modern browsers, such as Microsoft Edge, Safari (on macOS), or Mozilla Firefox, may work, but performance and features are optimised for Google Chrome.
Usage Tips for Reliable Performance
To keep Colossyan running smoothly:
- Use Google Chrome (latest version) whenever possible.
- Close any unnecessary browser tabs or apps while working.
- Make sure your operating system and browser are up to date.
- Before starting heavy editing or rendering tasks, consider restarting your browser to free up memory.
- If you notice slow performance, switching to a more powerful device can help.
